Welcome to Houston Anxiety and Wellness Center!

My name is Dr. Ivy Ruths. I am a licensed psychologist with over 15 years of experience and I am so excited to share what we have been building with the Houston community!

Since my senior year of high school when I took my first psychology class, I have been enamored with human behavior, the brain, and emotions and pursued a career in clinical psychology in order to meld together my love of people with my love of helping others. My career has taken me into hospitals, community and university clinics, residential treatment facilities, schools, and finally into private practice. After working part time in solo private practice for six years, I decided that I could do more →

offer more services, help more people, change more lives…

And so I began searching for other great therapists and asked them to join me in creating a group practice full of compassionate and dedicated mental health clinicians.

Houston Anxiety and Wellness is a growing group practice. Our therapists are experts in the field of psychology and counseling and we specialize in treating children, adolescents, adults, and parents struggling with:

  • anxiety (such as panic attacks, phobias, perfectionism, and general worry about the future),
  • obsessive compulsive disorder,
  • depression,
  • difficult life transitions,
  • and body-focused repetitive behaviors (such as hair pulling, skin picking, and nail biting).

We are also very proud to be one of the premier training clinics for graduate students in Houston. Advanced doctoral students and masters levels clinicians seek out specialized training at Houston Anxiety and Wellness Center. Doctoral Clinicians and Counseling Interns come to us with experience and “graduate” with an even deeper understanding of the “gold standard” treatments for anxiety and OCD: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention.

We believe that every individual is deserving of excellent, evidence based care so we use treatments that have been scientifically proven to significantly make a difference in our clients’ lives. After working with us, clients share that we “completely changed their lives,” “gave them their freedom back,” “helped them do the things that they have always wanted to do,” and “totally transformed their families.” We could not be more honored to walk alongside our clients as they do the work that leads to these types of results!

We love what we do. We love people. And we love helping people love their lives, too. We’re excited to connect and encourage you to reach out our office by email (info@houstonanxiety.com) or by phone (832-205-8120) to speak to one of our friendly care client specialists. They’ll answer all of your questions get you set up with an initial appointment with the “right fit” therapist for you or your family.
